ALT Advisory presented to a group of journalists on ‘Media law in the digital age’. The workshop was arranged by the South African Media Freedom Committee of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA). The workshop covered topics relating to the legal framework for media law in South Africa; content moderation; data protection and privacy for the media; and security laws and possible defences. The workshop concluded with a discussion on trends and strategies for media freedom in South Africa going forward.
