ALT recently presented an overview of South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) to university administrators. The presentation focused on protecting personal information relating to student data and academic research, and the specific implications that POPIA will have for institutions of higher learning when it comes into force.
