Wendy Trott Associate Director
Wendy is an Associate Director at ALT Advisory, focusing on equality and inclusion, information integrity, media viability, and organisational development.
Wendy holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Georgia, with a minor in French, and an M.A. in International Development from Sciences Po Paris, with majors in African Affairs and Emerging Economies. She also holds an LLB (cum laude) from UNISA.

Conducted an independent impact evaluation for Laws.Africa of the Tanzania Legal Information Institute (TanzLII).
Developed training materials and facilitated training workshops to strengthen the technical capacity of country and regional offices, governments, and CSOs to implement an integrated, strategic approach to counter female genital mutilation.

Undertook an assessment of CSOs partnered with an international multilateral children’s organisation to support a gender transformational approach to ending child marriage.

Assisted various civil society organisations with strategic development, M&E, and fundraising support.
Conducted an impact evaluation for the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC), including facilitating a multi-day strategy workshop and managing a multi-stakeholder consultation process.
- Supported a coalition of media organisations, including the South African National Editors’ Forum, with a series of written and oral submissions to the Media and Digital Platforms Market Inquiry initiated by South Africa’s Competition Commission.

Assisted several South African civil society organisations with information governance, including developing responsible AI policies and regulatory compliance in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Developed a capacity-building strategy to address gender barriers in accessing and utilising immunisation services in development and humanitarian settings, for a large multilateral organisation.

Wendy is an Associate Director at ALT Advisory, focusing on equality and inclusion, information integrity, media viability, and organisational strategy and impact.
Wendy holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Georgia, where she also minored in French, and an M.A. in International Development from Sciences Po Paris, where she majored in African Affairs and Emerging Economies. She also holds an LLB (cum laude) from UNISA and recently completed her practical vocational training to become a legal practitioner.
Previously, Wendy worked in economic research with JPAL-Africa, a branch of the global research centre working to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence, based out of the University of Cape Town. She also worked with Omidyar Network and subsequently Luminate, a philanthropic organisation investing in innovative initiatives to improve government accountability and civic empowerment across Africa in areas such as independent media and digital rights.
Wendy has also worked with the Center for International Development at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and with the Brenthurst Foundation in Johannesburg, South Africa.
