Claire Dehosse Associate
Claire is an Associate at ALT Advisory, and has worked across a wide range of public interest and policy areas, including advisory work on digital rights, climate justice, and children’s rights.
Her experience spans policy development, multi-country research, developing capacity building strategies, conducting various trainings, and the development of judicial and thematic reports for domestic, regional, and international bodies.
She is particularly interested in environmental justice and sustainability, as well as competition and equality law.
Claire holds B.A. and LL.B. degrees from Stellenbosch University, an LL.M. in Environmental Law from the University of Cape Town, and a Certificate in Competition Law from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Claire is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.

- Designed and facilitate constitutional literary workshops, together with WeThePeopleSA, the Constitutional Court, and the Constitutional Hill Development Company, for grade 10-12 learners. This initiative is aimed at strengthening constitutional understanding, democratic values and active citizenship among high-school learners.
- Developed a comprehensive toolkit for women in community-centred connectivity initiatives for the implementation of the Association for Progressive Communication’s National Strategy for Community Networks in South Africa. This toolkit is aimed at empowering women within community-centred connectivity initiatives to engage and participate meaningfully in online spaces.
- Drafted the chapters on the state of South Africa’s digital rights and inclusion for Paradigm Initiative’s 2024 and 2025 annual Londa report.
- Developed a capacity building guide for an international children’s rights multilateral organisation, focused on building capacity to integrate gender considerations in programming.
- Assisted a South African legacy foundation in developing its environmental and social governance materiality approach for the purposes of its Funding Policy, and to inform general organisational processes.

Claire is also an Associate at Power Law Africa (2025-), where she has experience in strategic litigation in the advancement of human rights in the Constitutional Court, various High Courts, the Equality Court, and the Competition Tribunal of South Africa.
