Lawrence Mute appointed as a Commissioner of the International Commission of Jurists
ALT Advisory’s Chief Advisor, Lawrence Mute, has been appointed as one of the 60 Commissioners of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ).
Commissioners of the ICJ are eminent judges, lawyers, and legal academics with unparalleled knowledge of the law and human rights who support the ICJ’s legal teams. They are selected by their peers for their experience, knowledge, and strong commitment to human rights, and they reflect the diversity of the world and its many legal systems.
According to Lawrence:
Being elected an ICJ Commissioner is a great honour and privilege. ICJ’s aims resonate well with my goal of continuing to put my very best effort towards the protection and promotion of human rights at the international and continental levels. As a person with disability myself, I am particularly concerned to support causes that seek to ensure non-discrimination for marginalised populations around the world.
